Tenth New Years Post

This is the tenth New Years post.

THE 40 QUESTIONS:

Just like I did the other years, I’ve answered 40 questions that I found on a page that doesn't exist anymore so I don't know who to give credit to for them. This year I've caught up a bit so the post is just a couple of weeks late instead of months! Here are the questions:

1. What did you do in 2018 that you’d never done before?

I visited the worlds (?) biggest recovery community for addicts! It was surreal walking up and down that hill in Italy and hearing about the work they do, truly an experience!
I was home the whole year to recover from wearing myself out, so I guess that's kinda new.
I also helped clean out an apartment after a person passing.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Maybe I will make a resolution sometime! Not now though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

I don't... think so? I hope I'm not forgetting anyone right now.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes, my last living grandparent passed away, my grandfather on my fathers side. We didn't know eachother as much as maybe we should have... but he still was a presence in my life throughout. I'm happy that me, my father and two of my cousins were able to visit him the day before he passed.

5. What countries did you visit?

Italy, and on the way home to Sweden I almost got stuck in Germany for a night but we got the last places on the last plane home.

6. What would you like to have in 2019 that you lacked in 2018?

Income. I was about to write stability but thanks to my parents and stuff I've had quite a stable life the last year... and I've worked to be more stable myself so that I can take on the next chapter of my life that hopefully begins this year! So income and a closer relationship with myself. More freedom and room to breathe so that I can make my life and hopefully my friends lives better!

7. What date from 2018 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Seems like my calender is wiped? I don't really etch dates into my memory in that way. But Two important dates that I don't remember exactly when they happened was of course when we were finished with our graduation thesis in school and the funeral. Another moment I remember were when I went to a Melissa Horn concert on my own!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I've made great progress getting back to functioning, and getting help for that might've been the biggest hurdle I cleared!

9. What was your biggest failure?

I think I don't have that many like... momentous occasions... but I feel like I've failed to be patient with some of my friends and rather than listen got irritated sometimes... I dunno if it's deserved or not.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Well if you count burn-out... and stomach issues... then yes! Also threw up again, once every other year is by far more than I've done the last decade.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

My Nintendo Switch, definetly.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

My cousin that helped with everything after my grandfathers passing. Some of my friends had kind of a nice impact on me and kept me happier than I would've been too, even though maybe I even needed a little more of that in general.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

Some people with horrible political views in my own country! On my facebook too! I feel dread that people take anecdotal evidence and extrapolate a lot of hate from that.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Food, I think. I ordered so much pizza during the year. I mean the Switch was pretty expensive but I really do think that the food might've added up over time.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Meeting some friends I think, like going to Stockholm just to meet a friend that was moving to Mexico (she's back in Sweden already though) and other less grand stuff like that, like hanging out with my friends in town. Also the Melissa Horn concert of course. Meeting people I like really impact me positively.

16. What song will always remind you of 2018?

Well, eventhough On the low by Tove Styrke, Trointeduärnåt City by Markus Krunegård and You & Jennifer by bülow have been on repeat I have to give it to Who wants to live forever by Queen, because it was the perfect song for my grandfathers funeral and it impacted me greatly.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

I. happier or sadder?

Happier, I've gone through one whole year of trying to improve my health and mental state so yeah!

II. thinner or fatter?

Fatter? I lost some weight during the year but I think it's all back... with a vengence!!!

III. richer or poorer?

Poorer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Being patient with myself, having energy to do stuff.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Stress myself out when there really were no musts. I think I could've done an even better job recovering.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I spent it at my cousin's without my cousin. He has moved to my town now and had to work during Christmas, but it was ok nonetheless with my other relatives.

21. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?

We had the tenth HN (Honor of the Nerds) tournament! It was really fun, I ran it and participated and won.

22. Did you fall in love in 2018?

I wouldn't say that, no. But I've been thinking about throwing myself out there more.

23. How many one-night stands?

0

24. What was your favorite TV program?

I guess it was Så mycket bättre. I didn't really enjoy all that much tv.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

Don't really think so, no.

26. What was the best book you read?

I read some of the short stories in Ted Chiangs Your life and others, I think that was it for me reading this year.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Either Albin Lee Meldau or... nah, it must be Linus Hasselberg, it feels different and so right!

28. What did you want and got?

I did get some love from my friends after all, and I got better relationships with my family! Help, also, some professional help to get better.

29. What did you want and not get?

A faster recovery, lasting stability, more meaning in my life.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Welp... as a gigant Marvel fan... it has to be Avengers: Infinity War, with Black Panther and (surprisingly enough) Into the Spiderverse in close 2nd and 3rd.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I actually had friends over the whole weekend! Video games on friday, marvel marathon on saturday and board games on sunday! Yay!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Human warmth, both in my personal life and politically.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2018?

Lounging around.

34. What kept you sane?

Trying to find my center and stillness. Tried some meditation. And saw some friends.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Always kind of a weird question... Scrolling through my Youtube video history for many minutes and still only reaching a couple of months back before quitting would seem to suggest maybe like... Orla Gartland, AOC and Alicia Wikander or something like that. I mostly like them for their music, politics and performances and such though... but yeah, they seem genuine and sweet. Strictly by looking at the people who show up the most would suggest like.. Trump and the TYT crew but yeah no, I don't really fancy em that much... Although more seriously, Pokemon Go youtuber Trainer Tips maybe should make the list too, hadn't really thought about it that way but yeah, he seems sweet and nice... anyway, I've spent too much time on this question that I don't really take seriously haha.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

See point 13 I think. How our country treats people who are seeking asylum and are fleeing hell is appaling! I want a more humane politics but unfortunately our country is going in a more rightleaning direction at the moment, it's so stupid.

37. Who did you miss?

Some friends mostly... for different parts of the year or something like that.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I can't think that I really met that many new people. Maybe some young people in UNF or something like that, I like that there are passionate people that will drive the future. But no... I could argue that some people that I've known for longer but now become friends that I hang out and play board games with sometimes might deserve a mention here instead, I really like hanging out and playing some games with the three of them :).

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2018:

Recovering takes time, it's important to try to care for yourself.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Like earlier years I will try to use ”only” 5 songs.

Mörkret kom, kröp ner i mina lungor
Det försvinner om jag sjunger
Men jag har glömt hur man gör

Brukar aldrig tveka

Men vill inte be nån

Men vill inte be nån hjälpa mig upp igen
Det som aldrig skulle hända mig
Kan inte ställa mig upp igen
Nån måste rädda mig
Men vill inte be nån hjälpa mig upp igen
Det som aldrig skulle hända mig
Kan inte ställa mig upp igen
Nån måste rädda mig
Men vill inte be nån hjälpa mig upp igen
Det som aldrig skulle hända mig
Kan inte ställa mig upp igen
Inte själv

Upp igen by Jenny Wall

What if you were born a thousand miles from me
Cross the mountains and the sea
And were brought up in a town I didn't know
A hundred years ago
Then I had never found my ways
I'd stumble in the dark
Cause darling it's a lightless sky
If you're not here to bring out the stars

What if you were to decide you'd go away
And not a word could make you stay
Then I would lie about how glad I was for you
Trying something new
If we would never be no more
I would fall apart
Oh darling it's a lightless sky
If you're not here to bring out the stars

I know that I am not the easiest
I know that I can be a mess to figure out
I know that I have done you wrong sometimes
But in the end I hope you know there is no doubt
If the world is coming down on you
There's not a thing I wouldn't do for you

I remember having dreams when I was young
Now that confidence is gone
And I'm afraid it's even worse than it appears
I've lost it through the years
So help me get it back somehow
Lead me through the dark
Oh darling it's a lightless sky
If you're not here to bring out the stars
Oh darling it's a lightless sky
If you're not here to bring out the stars

END-18 THE ONES LAST YEAR AWARDS!

I'm doing these awards again this year, yes. I'll be telling you my favourite in several different categories and a runner up.. in other words 2 titles/people/whatever wins in each category! There's not really any order to the two in each category so both win equally.

BEST ALBUM 2018

“I huvet på en idiot, i en bar, på en ö, i ett hav, på en ö, i en bar, i huvudet på en idiot” by Markus Krunegård.
Honestly, I've been bopping more to Markusevangeliet, an earlier album of his, this year. I haven't listened to that many albums that I've liked, compared to last year, the field was considerably weaker. However! There are some songs I really like on this album and Trointeduärnå City is such a great song! It's one of two songs that I've really pulled out if people asked me to play a song during the year, the other one is on the other album that I wanna celebrate with this award! I like O A O A E vi förlorade, Så också i Finspång and Ringvägen too. Ta en dusch is a song that I don't really like the sound of but I like the lyrics, my problem with this album overall is the sound it seems to go for, it's not really my cup of tea when the voice almost blend in with the brazen instrument at times. I do think that Ringvägen hits the perfect middleground between that kind of sound and groovy melodies. Overall, I do like it but the strenght of some of the songs really carries it for me and my baseline appreciation for Markus music is so high that even meh-albums is great in comparison to other stuff for me. Ben kött & känsler is a good finish also.

“Sway” by Tove Styrke
I mean yeeeeees! This has me moving! This is kind of the opposite of the other winner in this category. I reaaaally liked some of Tove Styrkes music before but I think this might be my favorite so far. It's so great! I'd even give the songs that I'm not that into a 7 out of 10 (Like Mistakes, Vibe and Sway, although the last one might be an 8). The only real low point in my opinion is I Lied, I don't mind the plastic, computery sound if the melody and the song overall justyfies it and rocks, but I don't feel that the song moves me at all unfortunately. On a level is an 8 and a half and the rest is 9-10s, I really like Changed My Mind, the chorus that goes from singing to the quick phrase “I changed my mind” is so beautiful, Say My Name has me really bouncing in my seat and then we reach liability (demo) that is so delicate and beautiful and the minimalistic instrumentation is so fragile and strong at the same time, the lyrics really echo and it's awesome, I really think that it's got more layers than Lordes original take on the song, it feels like Lorde just sings it straightforward while I still hear the emotion in Toves version, but it feels like it's trying to veil it. But nothing compares to On the Low... it's really been my jam this year, it's soooooo oooo o gooooood!! It shares the qualities of the clear lyrics and the grooving beats of some of the other great songs on this album. Aaaaah, it's so great! Thanks Tove Styrke.

BEST GAME 2018
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
I'm a huge Smash fan and this is almost all I could've asked for! I do wish I got the time to play even more in person with my friends but yeah... this is a package that will be hard to surpass in the future, I'm just going to enjoy it.

Dragon Ball FighterZ
Yeah, Pokémon Let's Go was alright, but there really wasn't that much competition, Soul Calibur VI was the only real challanger for me for the second place but DBFZ is such a greater feat in my eyes. It also feels like the developers really tried to make it as good as it could be while SCVI feels under-funded, I really wish they'd get as many resources as Tekken. As it is, DBFZ pulls of the feat of interesting me more even though I traditionally like 3d fighters a whole lot more, I even got into watching the pro scene for a while this year, DBFZ is such a great game. Also, I didn't get to play Super Mario Party, that is the only game I could see that would've challanged DBFZ for this place but I don't know if that would've done it either, so great work!

BEST ANIME 2018

My hero Academia season 3
Well, it started off good in season one... but season 2 was awesome and 3 just kept it up, even almost pushing it a bit beyond... so keeping that level of quality really just makes me more and more hype the longer they manage to hold that consistency.

Megalo Box
One Piece is the only one I watch at the moment but due to it's pacing it is just ok and the base floor for me, so when I get to watch other things at the same time, I usually end up prefering them. Megalo Box was close, it's not really my typical series but I liked it quite a bit, it had a simple plot, and a bit of heart and it was charming :).

BEST MOVIE 2018

Avengers: Infinity War
I already talked about it. It was... amazing, it made me unable to speak for a couple of minutes after.

Black Panther
Black Panther just barely beat out Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse. I feel they're both great at what they do and they surprised me with how much I like them both! Black Panther is so great, I especially love the characters that really only needs one showing to become endearing favorites! I think of M'baku and Shuri most of all but also how cool Killmonger and Okoye are. All that combined with stunning visuals, a heartfelt conflict at the center of the movie and a likeable lead, it was really nice!

Awards taken out from last year:
None, these are the ones that feel relevant for now.

If you happen to have any award that you feel I should’ve given out, tell me! If anybody suggests something in the comments I could give out more awards next year.

That was another year, and now I give you; the song of today:

The song of today:
On the low by Tove Styrke

Yeah, I don't think I've had Tove Styrke on here before? I love this song as you know by now. It moves me in more ways than one, musically, lyrically, emotionally and I've seldom heard longing expressed so clearly.

I'm a bit late this year too but I've improved, see you next year, hopefully actually around new years but we'll see!

Ninth New Years post

This is the ninth New Years post.

THE 40 QUESTIONS:

Just like I did the other years, I’ve answered 40 questions that I found on a page that doesn't exist anymore so I don't know who to give credit to for them. Unlike the other years I didn't have time to write this around new years... so here it comes a couple of months later! Here are the questions:

1. What did you do in 2017 that you’d never done before?

I don't really know. I presented the nominations for UNF as part of the election committee. I finished a bunch of my non-profit organisation assignments.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Easy to keep a promise you never make :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes, my classmate that I also wrote my like... graduation thesis with during the last part of the year.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No.

5. What countries did you visit?

I stayed in Sweden.

6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?

I would like to get rid of the constant stress that flows through my body. And I would like to have more of a social life

7. What date from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I don't know really. UNF's congress? Because I got to hang out with many great people that I like and also got to be mad at some of the decisions made.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Looking back at it, my biggest achievement must've been my biggest failure too:

9. What was your biggest failure?

I actually managed to do everything I was supposed to do. But in hindsight it feels like it put a great toll on my health and happiness. I hope taking it easy now will help with that.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Not really that I can remember.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Some books for myself I think. Even though I really haven't read them yet.

My classmate, we went through a lot of hard times and still managed to write our graduation thesis.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

A certain orange president I think.

II. thinner or fatter?

A bit fatter.

III. richer or poorer?

Neither.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Taking it easy and having fun. I think I'm pretty bad at that by now.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Stressful things.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I don't really remember but I think we celebrated at home and then with a christmas present-game with my friends.

I ran and competed in the tournament called HN (Honor of the Nerds).

22. Did you fall in love in 2017?

No.

23. How many one-night stands?

0

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Well I think I should count Netflix-series by this point and I just kind of enjoyed Så mycket bättre... so I think it's gotta be Marvel's The Punisher.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

Nah.

26. What was the best book you read?

I don't think I had that much time to read. Maybe I read some more chapters in Bruce.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Moneybrothers music in swedish under his name Anders Wendin, escpecially Snart kommer det en båt.

28. What did you want and got?

I'm sure there are things... but I don't really know

29. What did you want and not get?

I don't think I really knew or know what I want right now.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Oooh, hard one! I really think that this was the best year for comic book movies like ever. If I had to choose I think Thor: Ragnarok hit a chord with me personally and beat out Guardians 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Wonder Woman and Logan.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I'm not really sure at all what I did. Did I do anything? Probably. Oh! Now I remember! I invited a bunch of different people and some unexpected people actually showed up, I especially remember a friend from UNF that came over from another city just to hang out a couple of hours in the early afternoon.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

More closeness I think.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2017?

Well I don't know if I have words for it but I actually started to buy some clothes from a second hand shop... I think I went with some colors... but like one-colored clothing items. So big spaces of red for example. I really found some gems that I loved wearing!

34. What kept you sane?

Talking through things with my classmate I think. Or was I really kept sane in the grand scheme of things haha?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Eh, I don't really know Gal Gadot was awesome so maybe her? Or Tessa Thompson maybe!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

I don't really know, I was probably irritated with all the racist and fascistic tendencies in the world and here at home.

37. Who did you miss?

Yeah, I think same as last year, my friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Trying to remember if I met all that many new people... I mean I met some awesome people involved in UNF at the congress I think so maybe one of them.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2017:

I don't really know if I have anything like that but maybe try to take things at your own pace.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Like earlier years I will try to use ”only” 5 songs.

Vila mot min arm, vågor rullar in...

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily
Joyfully, playfully watching me
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible
Logical, responsible, practical
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable
Clinical, intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical
Liberal, fanatical, criminal
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
Acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable
Oh, take, take, take it yeah

At night, when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am, who I am, who I am, who I am

'Cause I'm feeling so logical
D-d-digital
Yeah, one, two, three, five
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
Ooh it's getting unbelievable

The logical song by Supertramp (I do listen a lot to Hanna Turi's version though)

I Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Mama, come here
Approach, appear
Daddy, I'm alone
'Cause this house don't feel like home

If you love me, don't let go
If you love me, don't let go

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Mother, I know
That you're tired of being alone
Dad, I know you're trying
To fight when you feel like flying

If you love me, don't let go
If you love me, don't let go

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Hold
Hold on
Hold on to me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady
A little unsteady

Take my mind
And take my pain
Like an empty bottle takes the rain
And heal, heal, heal, heal

And take my past
And take my sense
Like an empty sail takes the wind
And heal, heal, heal, heal

And tell me somethings last
And tell me somethings last

Take a heart
And take a hand
Like an ocean takes the dirty sand
And heal, heal, hell, heal

Take my mind
And take my pain
Like an empty bottle takes the rain
And heal, heal, hell, heal

And tell me somethings last

Heal by Tom Odell

Well, I love the rain the most when it stops
We can see the big white houses, yeah, and the docks
And we can jump in the river, don't know if the water or sky is clearer
But I know that I love the rain the most when it stops
Yeah, when it stops

No more grey today, we gonna celebrate
You know Miss Sunshine, she starts to paint a perfect picture of this river parade
And I know that I love the rain the most when it stops
Yeah, when it stops

Well, the dark waves, they start singing together
I can't believe this change in the weather
I start to hum a child's rhyme
And all these boats, they start rocking in time
And I love the rain the most when it stops
Yes, we love the rain the most when it stops
Yeah when it stops

The summer is coming to an end
We ain't gonna let that slow us down one bit
Til that sunset will start to fade
They're gonna drag us screaming from these old riverbanks

We love the rain the most when it stops
We love the rain the most when it stops
Yeah, when it stops
Yeah, when it stops
Yeah, when it stops
When it stops, when it stops, when it stops
Yeah, when it stops

I think you've had a little too much too drink
Let me help with that
Don't forget to tie the boat up
Not that way, no it's a figure eight, yeah
Yeah when it stops
The rain, when it stops

I love the rain the most by Joe Purdy

END-18 THE ONES LAST YEAR AWARDS!

I'm doing these awards again this year, yes. I'll be telling you my favourite in several different categories and a runner up.. in other words 2 titles/people/whatever wins in each category! There's not really any order to the two in each category so both win equally.

BEST ALBUM 2017

”Däggdjur” by Säkert!
Fantastic! I wish I got to hear Annika Norlin sing herself more... but who can complain when what we get is still like as good! Fantastic lyrics as always. I really liked Snooza too.

”Tiden före mig” by Jens Hult
I love this! Mälaren manages to be both solemn and energetic. I love the words and how they are sung.

BEST GAME 2017

The end is nigh
I can't get enough of Edmund McMillens games. A fun platformer that is as hard as you can expect!

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild
I only played it the weekend the Switch released with my friend but that was enough, this game is fantastic and gives me some of the feelings I get from my favorite Zelda; the first one for NES.

BEST ANIME 2017

Boku no Hero Academia season 2
This anime just keeps growing on me and Stain was an awesome character, generally I think the characters got a lot of needed development and I'm growing attached to them!

Dragon Ball Super
I admit the series does have a lot of problems but those hype moments that makes me care for and like the characters that I've grown up with or the ones they face... they're really precious!

BEST MOVIE 2017

Thor: Ragnarok
I already mentioned it, but yeah, fighting through the stigma I feel surrounds liking comedy movies this much I finally reached the conclusion that it was my favorite MCU-movie during 2017.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
This was really hard... I could've just as easily put four other comic book movies here too that I liked a lot. But in the end, I really enjoyed The Last Jedi. All the decisions made throughout the movie felt great even the first time I saw it. But it took a while for all the parts to work as a whole for me. The second time I saw it my doubts vanished though. Of course I still question parts of it but the things they got right the got sooo right!

Awards taken out from last year:
None, these are the ones that feel relevant for now.

If you happen to have any award that you feel I should’ve given out, tell me! If anybody suggests something in the comments I could give out more awards next year.

That was another year, and now I give you; the song of today:

The song of today:
Snart kommer det en båt by Anders Wendin

I've played this song so much during the last half of the year. It is really sad and kind of depressing, but it feels like the most hopeful companion you can have when you are in that state of mind where you don't know why you should do anything or keep on going. It's a beautiful piece!

See you next year, probably a little bit sooner than usual because this post was so late!

Eight New Years post

This is the eight New Years post.

THE 40 QUESTIONS:

Just like I did the other years, I’ve answered 40 questions that I found on a page that doesn't exist anymore so I don't know who to give credit to for them. Here are the questions:

1. What did you do in 2016 that you’d never done before?

I led a course for UNF, I also did some work as part of the caucus for UNF nationally. I started taking care of myself as a part of me finding out I had diabetes.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't have any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No, I don't think so.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No.

5. What countries did you visit?

No other countries than my own. But I was all over it.

6. What would you like to have in 2017 that you lacked in 2016?

Peace and quiet. I'd like to hang out with my friends more.

7. What date from 2016 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I'd say the day I found out I had diabetes or the day Pokémon Go came out, but I don't remember the specific dates.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

At least starting to take care of myself

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not managing my activites to allow for reduced stress, it was rather stressful.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I was diagnosed with diabetes.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

I don't like buying stuff... but I think it was Pokémon-necklaces for two of my closest friends.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

My classmate, she went through so much but is still here and such a great person to speak and reason with.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

The one who didn't show up for birthdays or the tournament at new years (HN).

14. Where did most of your money go?

I think to school and travel there, however; my food costs must have gone up with having to eat.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Hanging out. Seriously. But HN is always fun, and a few movies had my hopes up. Oh, and getting to read some new Hunter X Hunter chapters! They were great!

16. What song will always remind you of 2016?

Ditt andetag by Ulrik Munther

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

I. happier or sadder?

Neither I think

II. thinner or fatter?

Fatter? Maybe? I don't really know how much I'd lost last year... but I've gained some weight since summer at least :)!

III. richer or poorer?

Richer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Taking care. Of myself and others.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Nothing, I just feel I need more time, otherwise I'm doing some pretty awesome stuff.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I don't really care for Christmas but I was at my cousin's and then I celebrated at home with my friends a couple of days later two, with a christmas-present-game!

21. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?

At home, competing in HN :)!

22. Did you fall in love in 2016?

Nope. But I do think the definition of love and especially in the form of “romantic love” is weird and loose.

23. How many one-night stands?

0

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Så mycket bättre, season 7.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

Donald Trump maybe? Other people just dissapoints me and makes me sad without earning the word hate.

26. What was the best book you read?

Maybe a children's book of some kind.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

I think this is the year that I got really, really into dodie!

28. What did you want and got?

Support

29. What did you want and not get?

Time and fun

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

I think I'd have to say Rogue One.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 25! That was awesome, I think we played some digital parlour games (Jackbox)

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Endless access to time.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2016?

I'm starting to get more of a sense of what I like, I think, but also don't care (Vegeta outfit because why not!?)

34. What kept you sane?

My closest friends.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Daisy Ridley I think. I mean I don't really fancy celebrities all that much... so her impression still lingers into this year.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The Trumpening and Bernie Sanders.

37. Who did you miss?

My friends, I want to see them much more often.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I don't know if I have anyone like that this year.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2016:

You need to care about you and your needs.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Like earlier years I will try to use ”only” 5 songs.

I den stora sorgens famn
finns små ögonblick av skratt
så som stjärnor tittar fram
ut ur evighetens natt
och i solens första strålar
flyger svalorna mot skyn
för att binda sköra trådar
tvinna trådar
till en tross
mellan oss..
så vi når varandra

i den hårda tidens brus
finns de skrik som ingen hör
allt försvinner i ett sus
som när vinden sakta dör
alla tårarna har torkat
till kristaller på min kind
jag har ropat allt jag orkat
allt jag orkat efter dig
hör du mig
kan vi nå varandra

i den långa vinterns spår
trampas frusna blommor ner
och där ensamheten går
biter kylan alltid mer
ändå har jag aldrig tvekat
mellan mörker eller ljus
för när månens skära bleknat
har allt pekat åt ditt håll
och från mitt håll
kan vi nå varandra

i den stora sorgens famn..

I den stora sorgens famn by Ted Gärdestad (I listen to a live version by Helen Sjöholm and Freddie Wadling quite often).

What a strange being you are, God knows where I would be
If you hadn't found me, sitting all alone in the dark
A dumb screenshot of youth
Watch how a cold broken teen
Will desperately lean on a superglued human of proof

What the hell would I be, without you
Brave face talk so lightly, hide the truth

'Cause I'm sick of losing soulmates, so where do we begin
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?
Yeah, I'm sick of losing soulmates, won't be alone again
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?

We will grow old as friends, I've promised that before
So what's one more?
In our grey-haired circle, waiting for the end
Time and hearts will wear us thin
So which path will you take, cause we both know a break
Does exactly what it says on the tin

What the hell would I be, without you
Brave face talk so lightly, hide the truth

'Cause I'm sick of losing soulmates, so where do we begin
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?
Yeah, I'm sick of losing soulmates, won't be alone again
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?

I won't take no for an answer (I won't take no for an answer)
I won't take no for an answer (I won't take no for an answer)
I won't take no (I won't take no)
I won't take no (I won't take no)

'Cause I'm sick of losing soulmates, so where do we begin
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?
Yeah, I'm sick of losing soulmates, won't be alone again
I can finally see, you're as fucked up as me
So how do we win?

Sick of losing soulmates by dodie

Ditt andetag
Ditt andetag
Ditt andetag

Ditt andetag by Ulrik Munther

I recommend getting your heart trampled on to anyone
I recommend walking around naked in your living room
Swallow it down (what a jagged little pill)
It feels so good (swimming in your stomach)
Wait until the dust settles

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

I recommend biting off more then you can chew to anyone
I certainly do
I recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at any time
Feel free
Throw it down (the caution blocks you from the wind)
Hold it up (to the rays)
You wait and see when the smoke clears

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

Wear it out (the way a three-year-old would do)
Melt it down (you're gonna have to eventually anyway)
The fire trucks are coming up around the bend

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

You grieve you learn
You choke you learn
You laugh you learn
You choose you learn
You pray you learn
You ask you learn
You live you learn

You live, you learn by Alanis Morisette

Flocken e kollektiv inga soloseglare

END-16 THE ONES LAST YEAR AWARDS!

I'm doing these awards again this year, yes. I'll be telling you my favourite in several different categories and a runner up.. in other words 2 titles/people/whatever wins in each category! There's not really any order to the two in each category so both win equally.

BEST ALBUM 2016

”Intertwined” by dodie
I know it's an EP but still, dodies debut release must be celebrated! I feel such a kinship to dodie and her lyrics and her music is absolutely beautiful! <3 i="">

”Två naturliga armar” by Emil Jensen
Quite honestly, I haven't even listened to it yet but I can't seem to remember any other new release from anyone I like... and I just found this and is listening to it. So I'm sure he deserves it with his great lyrics and sense of combining it with music.

BEST GAME 2016

Pokémon Go
This game might not be the best game in many ways but it sure helped me get through tough times, it made me go out so much more and it certainly captured my attention more than it should have.

Pokémon Moon
This was the year of one of my favorite franchises ever and I love all the improvements made in this game, it's fantastic!

I should note that I haven't played or even watched The Last Guardian.

BEST ANIME 2016

One Piece
I think I only watch two animes at the moment... but One Piece does keep dragging me in every week.

Dragon Ball Super
It's fantastic, I love it!

BEST MOVIE 2016

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I definetly enjoyed this movie sooooo much, I love it!

Doctor Strange
I'm sorry but I only liked Captain America: Civil War moderately. Doctor Strange however, impressed me with it's visuals (something that I never let movies get points for usually!) and entertaining dialogue. The issues I have with the movie in things like casting in regards to cultural and representational issues and stuff were pretty big, however, I got most of that out of my system before even watching and I can't deny that I really liked it, and even saw it twice!

Awards taken out from last year:
None, this is a great, small selection.

If you happen to have any award that you feel I should’ve given out, it’s not too late yet! If anybody suggests something in the comments I could give out more awards later.

That was another year, and now I give you; the song of today:

The song of today:
Drug dealer by Macklemore

Touching and sometimes heartbreaking and awful to listen to, I love how honest and genuine this feels. It's also an issue I feel very strongly about so to see someone like Macklemore fight and articulate it this well brings me great satisfaction. It's also an awesome song that I play on repeat.

Hopefully see you next year, when I will tell you if ending my current assignments helped me become a better and more happy person.
