This is the twelfth New Years post.
THE 40
QUESTIONS:
Just like I
did the other years, I’ve answered 40 questions that I found on a
page that doesn't exist anymore so I don't know who to give credit to
for them.Here are the questions:
1.
What did you do in 2020 that you’d never done before?
I got a
full-time job and my own apartment!
2.
Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more
for next year?
Naaah
3.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
4. Did
anyone close to you die?
No but
a friend of the family that was a big influence on me during my
younger years is in the hospital and very sick with covid-19 so I'm
hoping he recovers.
5.
What countries did you visit?
I'm not
one for traveling that much and this year especially wasn't a year
for that. I barely even left town.
6.
What would you like to have in 2021 that you lacked in 2020?
I'm
happy to say that I've got income and a place of my own now, that
I've been asking for in the last ones of these. Right now I think
that I'd want a little space to breathe and rest and most of all the
ability to hang out with friends. But until this pandemic passes, I'm
determined to see people as little as possible to prevent
spreading.
7. What
date from 2020 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I mean
Covid doesn't have a really set date but it will always be the year
this pandemic really broke out. But I think personally my midsummer
was kind of memorable, a friend stopped by and we hung out on a
really sunny day.
8.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being
able to work.
9. What
was your biggest failure?
Maybe I'm
not really taking care of myself enough? I dunno, I'm pretty
satisfied with what I've done this year. I think that my biggest
failure could be that I've been bad at keeping in touch with friends,
the times I've texted or called friends is kinda few
unfortunately.
10. Did
you suffer illness or injury?
I actually
had a cough for like 12-13 weeks or something which was really
annoying because it was at the same time that we were moving out of
the house that we've lived in since 2000 and also because I couldn't
start working.
11.
What was the best thing you bought?
It was
kind of nice to finally buy things I need and want, like a helmet,
some games and other stuff that made my day just a little bit more
pleasurable.
12. Whose
behaviour merited celebration?
All the
people that actually were responsible and sacrificed some of their
enjoyment to save lives.
13.
Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
I followed the American election pretty closely and even though I know one person can't make a difference without a lot of other things, Bernie was inspiring to me and the move the other candidates did in the primary turned my stomach.
14.
Where did most of your money go?
Rent! But that's not fun and it's probably going to be my answer for some time. So... I bought a lot of games digitally and also spent some money in pokemon go.
15.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Hanging
out with my friend at midsummer maybe?
16.
What song will always remind you of 2020?
Maybe “New
Friends” by Orla Gartland. It is really good and I listened to her
online concerts during the first months of the pandemic. Maybe “Arne
Alligator” will be the song to remind me of the first days of
working full-time.
17.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
I.
happier or sadder?
I think
happier?
II. thinner
or fatter?
A bit
fatter
III. richer or
poorer?
Richer
18.
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Showing
friends how much they mean to me
19.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worrying
and stressing out
20.
How will you be spending Christmas?
I was
playing pokemon go by myself, my mother came by with presents and
eggs but that was it. And it felt really nice.
21.
How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
For
the first time in over ten years I'm not going to be surrounded by
lots of people. It is unfortunate but it is the truth. So I'm going
to be grinding pokemon go as hard as I can.
22.
Did you fall in love in 2020?
No I didn't.
23.
How many one-night stands?
Zero
24.
What was your favorite TV program?
Så
mycket bättre. Maybe Mandalorian would count nowadays too.. So one
of those two I think.
25.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No
26.
What was the best book you read?
I
actually finished Bruce by
Peter Ames Carlin! So I'd have to say that one.
27.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Hemliga
Klubben, their songs are absolute monster bops.
28.
What did you want and got?
Full-time
job and an apartment. Closer relationships with my family.
29.
What did you want and not get?
A nice
stress-free start to my worklife.
30.
What was your favorite film of this year?
I
didn't watch all that much, most movies I wanted to see got pushed
back.But maybe Birds of prey?
31.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I
didn't celebrate it much because of the pandemic and me having a
cough. I turned 29 so I'm soon thirty.
32.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more
satisfying?
To be able
to spend time with friends.
33.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in
2020?
Fullcolored
cosy.
34. What kept
you sane?
Playing
Pokemon Go, going on those walks have been great.
35.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Maybe
Rosario Dawson haha? She did a fantastic job as Ahsoka on the
Mandalorian and I really like her from before as Claire in the Marvel
Netflix-series.
36.
What political issue stirred you the most?
Handling of the corona virus in our country and in the world. Also the american election, if the counts as an issue.
37. Who did you miss?
Some of my
closest friends, and especially the people I play video games with
because we stopped seeing each other entriely because of the
pandemic.
38. Who was
the best new person you met?
My
colleagues at work, I think?
39.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2020:
If
you make an effort yourself to connect to people who you feel
should've made that effort in the first place, maybe their response
can make up for the fact that they should've worked on the
relationship in the first place.
40.
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Like
earlier years I will try to use ”only” 5 songs.
I got my heart broken oh, I must be cursed
Say “come out with us now”, can't think of anything worse
Can I be on my own? For the night
It's just my way of cope, out of sight
I don't wanna dance through the heart ache
I don't wanna drink through the pain
I just wanna feel it all, feel it now
So I never feel this way again
You guys go without me
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
There's no need to be sorry
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
That four[?] to the flour, that second verse
I got the base in my bones, can't think of anything worse
I'm just here trying to hold it together you know
That I'm not my best
I don't wanna dance through the heart ache
I don't wanna drink through the pain
I just wanna feel it all, feel it now
So I never feel this way again, oh
You guys go without me
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
There's no need to be sorry
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
There's no invite
Me myself and I
Are gonna have a great time
So you guys go without me
I'll just party by myself, oh
Oh, by myself, by myself
Please, let me drown in all my sorrow
For the night
Oh please, I promise that I'll face the world tomorrow
But I need time
You guys go without me
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
There's no need to be sorry
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
Oh
You guys go without me
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
Oh
There's no need to be sorry
I'll just party by myself
I'll just party by myself, by myself
There's no invite
Me myself and I
Are gonna have a great time
So you guys go without me
I'll just party by myself, oh
Oh, by myself, by myself
Party by myself by Orla Gartland
Men fabrikens kamrer
Årstider by Allan Edwall

Hemligt går träden i blom
Sakta vi gå genom stan by Eric Gadd (I know it’s a cover of a great Monica Zetterlund song)
Men fri, äntligen

END-20
THE ONES LAST YEAR AWARDS!
Awards!
2 titles/people/whatever wins in each category! There's not really
any order to the two in each category so both win equally.
BEST
ALBUM 2020
“Freckle
season” by Orla Gartland.
It is just an EP but oh it's sooooo
good, SO good. I think I loved “Heavy” before or something and
it's a solid 8 but I think it's my least favorite song on the EP, so
that's saying a lot! “New Friends” is like a 11 out of 10, it is
great, I love it. All of it. “Oh GOD” is so good. It's all so
good, I love the lyrics, the music compliments it
supurbly.
“Evermore” by Taylor Swift
BEST
GAME 2020
Super
Mario Bros. 35
I like old school platformers and this gave me that
but in a new way.
Fall Guys
I guess I had fun watching people play Fall Guys, I don't think I played any more games released this year so this'll have to do. Although I have bought Hades and My Hero One's Justice 2 and look forward to trying them. And If I wanted maybe I could've counted Pokemon Gos biggest update yet which released a higher level cap and a lot of fun things.
BEST ANIME
2020
One Piece
My Hero Academia season 4
It was really nice so I'll put it on here twice, the season ended this year but began last year, so I was still satisfied with it when it ended.
BEST MOVIE
2020
Birds of
Prey
This was a fresh start for Margot Robbies Harley Quinn and I
really liked it. It didn't hit it out of the park but it was a great
deal more enjoyable than most other DC-films I've seen.
Extraction
Awards
taken out from last year:
None,
these are the ones that feel relevant for now.
If
you happen to have any award that you feel I should’ve given out,
tell me! If anybody suggests something in the comments I could give
out more awards next year.
The
song of today:
Dina
föräldrar – akustisk version by Hemliga Klubben
Hemliga
Klubben is great, listen to them! So quirky lyrics that go with their
great instrumentation. This choice is because of the lyrics because
they really stand on their own but I implore you to listen to all of
their stuff.
This year was weird to live through.
